On 12 December, RCS, HK Branch held its annual Christmas Party at the Helena May. Attended by the British and Canadian Consuls General and around 50 guests, carols were sung by RCS choral scholar, Freddie Tsang.
On 23 November Hong Kong held its first Commonwealth Cricket Cup at the Kowloon Cricket Club. The event was originally held earlier this year in New Delhi. RCS, HK Branch, organized a charity concert at the residence of the Canadian Consul General on 25 October. Concert pianist, Jacqueline Leung, played pieces from Schumann, Bach, Gershwin and Chopin. Around $22,000 was raised for El Sistema, a charity which provides musical instruments and group training to disadvantaged young people in Tin Shui Wai.
