On 10 October, RCS, HK Branch held a cocktail reception for 50 fellows and guests at which Dr Verner Bickley MBE and Dr Gillian Bickley presented the secret diaries of an American in China at the time of the Second Opium War. It was a colourful evocation of Hong Kong and China in the 1860s.
