RCS HK Branch celebrated their traditional Burns Night Supper on 26 January at the Ladies Recreation Club. Around 80 guests enjoyed the Address to the Haggis, Toast to the Lassies and Reply from the Lassies. At midnight all sang Auld Lang Syne before departing.

On 12 December, RCS, HK Branch held its annual Christmas Party at the Helena May. Attended by the British and Canadian Consuls General and around 50 guests, carols were sung by RCS choral scholar, Freddie Tsang.
The Commonwealth Cricket Cup | 23 Nov 2018
On 23 November Hong Kong held its first Commonwealth Cricket Cup at the Kowloon Cricket Club. The event was originally held earlier this year in New Delhi. Exactly one hundred years after the Armistice in 1918, Mr Peter Mann, Mrs Joan Campbell and Dr Verner Bickley lay a wreath on behalf of RCS, HK Branch at the Cenotaph.
Charity Concert | 25 Oct 2018
RCS, HK Branch, organized a charity concert at the residence of the Canadian Consul General on 25 October. Concert pianist, Jacqueline Leung, played pieces from Schumann, Bach, Gershwin and Chopin. Around $22,000 was raised for El Sistema, a charity which provides musical instruments and group training to disadvantaged young people in Tin Shui Wai.

On 10 October, RCS, HK Branch held a cocktail reception for 50 fellows and guests at which Dr Verner Bickley MBE and Dr Gillian Bickley presented the secret diaries of an American in China at the time of the Second Opium War. It was a colourful evocation of Hong Kong and China in the 1860s. […]
Mid-autumn concert | 20 Sep 2018
On 20 September, RCS, HK Branch organized a charity concert at the residence of the Australian Consul-General (which had luckily survived the recent super-typhoon) to raise funds for the RCS Vocal Scholarship at the Academy for Performing Arts. The concert had a lunar theme and around $40,000 was raised for the scholarship.
Mentors’ reception | 28 May 2018
On 28th May, RCS arranged a reception at Helena May for 18 mentors and 28 students from City University. The purpose of the scheme is for mentors to offer career and other advice to students.

On 19 May, Royal Commonwealth Society, HK Branch, held its annual Charity Ball at the Ladies’ Recreation Club in support of the Little Life Warrior Society, helping children with cancer. On 30 April, RCS HK Branch arranged a dinner at the Zoroastrian Club in Causeway Bay. Members enjoyed a talk on Parsee history and the Zoroastrian religion and enjoyed a delicious Parsee banquet with subtle Persian tastes.
